Rapid Applications Developer (Trading Desk) - New York, NY

We are seeking a rapid applications developer for a trading desk in one of the largest broker-dealers. This is a demanding position with quick turn around times. You will be seated on trading floor in constant contact with the traders, sales and quant researchers. Successful candidate will have the following traits and experience:

Very good knowledge of Excel/VBA (minimum 4 years)
Good knowledge of either C# or Java or both
Excellent knowledge of SQL and database design
Comfortable in Windows and Linux
Pragmatic developer but without sacrificing software design
Ability to design service oriented architecture
Practitioner of Agile; adamant about unit testing
Strong quantitative aptitude
Excellent communication skills
Knowledge of fixed income business, most desired structured credit (CDO, ABS, MBS)

We are looking for an entrepreneurial individual to help with sales and marketing of our software systems and professional services to banks and hedge funds. Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills; native English speakers preferred
Excellent presentation skills both in preparation and delivery
Excellent organization and planning skills
Good understanding of the securities business; prior experience preferred
Good understanding of software development, databases etc
Prior sales experience in financial software highly desired
